Charles Yoder Linocut Workshop in the Lower Gallery
July 07, 2015
Painter/printmaker Charles Yoder will be conducting a workshop in the technique of Linoleum Block printing (aka Linocut) on Tuesday July 7th at the Salmagundi Club located at 47 Fifth Avenue at 12th St. Linocut is a versatile and direct printmaking technique, as simple or as complicated as the artist wishes.
Participants will gather in the Lower Gallery at 5 PM for a three hour session. Charles will lead everyone through the process beginning with the initial drawing to proofing to a final one color print.
The cost of this workshop is $45 per person. All cutting tools, linoleum blocks, ink and paper will be provided gratis. Participants should bring a drawing of what they have in mind to print and cut. It should be no larger than 6x9.
Because there are only fifteen sets of cutting tools, total enrollment will be strictly limited to fifteen (15) people. If there are people who can't get in due to limitation but want to listen and observe they are welcome for a $15 charge.
Charles is an instructor of printmaking at the School of Visual Arts and is currently the Chairman of the Art Committee of the Salmagundi Club.
