Salmagundi Club 128th Annual Member’s Exhibition
An Enduring Tradition
Upper and Lower Galleries
Monday November 14, 2011, through Sunday, November 27, 2011
Viewing Hours: 1-6pm Mon.-Fri., 1-5pm Sat. & Sun.

The Salmagundi Club, located at 47 Fifth Avenue in New York City’s Greenwich Village, will host its 129th Annual Member’s Exhibition of original works by artist members in the visual arts including paintings in all media, sculpture, graphics, and photography. This year’s awards will be judged by Alasdair Nichol, Fine Art Appraiser of the beloved television program Antiques Road Show, and Vice Chairman at Freeman’s Auctioneers of Philadelphia.

This juried exhibition has a unique pedigree: the first annual exhibition was held by the Salmagundi Club in 1884. In a move to involve more artist members, including those artists who generally work in a larger format, this year’s exhibition will include substantially bigger pieces of up to 66 inches in either direction for two-dimensional works and 40 inches for sculpture. A major proportion of the artworks will be for sale.

Cash prizes ranging between $50 and $3000 will be awarded, including the SCNY Purchase Prize which entails inclusion in the Club’s Permanent Collection.
