Dmitri Wright lives and works in back country Greenwich CT where he gathers inspiration for his landscapes directly from his property and his travels in the USA, Europe, South America and China. Dmitri studied under Will Barnet and Wolf Kahn at Cooper, Ruben Tam at Brooklyn Museum, and training in the classical foundations with Samuel Brecher. Wright’s work embodies a classical foundation while integrating impressionist rhythmic movements captured in and expressed in a boldness of color offering an environment of light in multiple contrapuntal motions for the eye. He is the master artist/instructor for the National Park Service at Weir Farm NHS in Wilton CT, the only park dedicated to painting. Wright operates Weir Farm Art Academy, in partnership with the NPS, a plein air program dedicated to teaching and advancing the foundations of American Impressionism. Wright’s work is in noted corporate and museum collections.
