Holly Meeker Rom
Holly Meeker was born on Long Island where she grew up on Lloyd Neck. She studied at Mills College in Oakland,CA for her BA degree. She has an MFA in painting from American University. She currently lives in New York City. Holly has had many group and solo exhibitions in the USA. She has won several awards in watercolor from such noted jurors as Charles Reid, Frederick Brosen, Richard Lytle and Stephen Doherty. Her paintings are in many private collections. Her inspiration is always changing. She is known for her landscape and landmark scenes in Rye, NY where she lived for 23 years.Since she moved to NYC she paints scenes of parks and gardens and landmarks here as well. Her nature close-up paintings are award winners, birches and apple trees especially. Most recently she is combining water media with collage in a series of climate change images shown at MSB Gallery at NYU Langone Medical Center in NY. Much of this work was based on her travels to Patagonia and Antarctica.
