Janet Lippmann

Beautiful colors and shapes in nature inspire my work. I paint gardens, landscapes and flowers in a realistic yet impressionistic manor. With a B.A. and M.A. in Art and Education from Brooklyn College, I have taught art, directed a fine art gallery and raised a family. Painting alone at Giverny, Monet's garden, was a life changing experience. Shortly thereafter I decided to paint full time. My professional memberships include Hudson Valley Art Association, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, National Arts Club, Pastel Society of America, Art du Pastel en France and The North America Pastel Artists Association. I have participated in group exhibitions of these organizations and have won numerous awards. My one- person exhibitions were held at The River Gallery, Irvington-on-Hudson, NY, The Newington-Cropsey Foundation Gallery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, and the National Arts Club, NYC. I am listed in "Who's Who in American Women" and "Who's Who in American Art".
