Nick Dawes is Vice President of Special Collections at Heritage Auctions in New York and a former auctioneer and Department Head at Sotheby's and Phillips. He has been a Village resident and Adjunct Professor at Parsons since the mid 1980's and lectures widely on a variety of topics related to design history and the business of art. Nick is the author of four standard works on decorative arts and considered this country's leading expert on the work of French jeweler and glassmaker Rene Lalique. Nick is known to many through over 20 years of frequent appearances as an Expert Appraiser on PBS 'Antiques Roadshow', including a popular spot he taped at the Salmagundi Library with host Mark Walberg in 2014: http://www.pbs.org/video/2365397558/.
