Alison Nicholls lived in southern Africa and returns annually to sketch in the bush. She is a member of the Salmagundi Club, Artists For Conservation, the Explorers Club and the Society of Animal Artists. Her Conservation Sketching Expeditions allow her to visit African conservation projects, sketch on site and learn about their work. On return to the studio she incorporates conservation themes into her work and donates a percentage from every sale towards conservation in the field. Alison also leads Sketching Safaris in South Africa for Africa Geographic magazine and frequently lectures about Africa, wildlife and conservation issues. Alison is English by birth but now lives in Port Chester, New York.
"My art is inspired by Africa. Years of observation and sketching in the bush have allowed me to hone my skills, while the vast deserts and glowing colors of Africa have defined my style."
