Connecticut-based artist and sculptor Mara Sfara has loved all forms of art even at a young age. She carried that love over into her formal education when she earned a B.A. in English and Film Criticism from the University of Rochester and her Masters of Arts degree from New York University. She is a member on the Salmangundi Club, works with the Development Committee for Mattituck Museum, and sits on the gallery board for Queensborough Community College. She is also a member of The National Sculpture Society, The National Arts Club in New York, and the Wethersfield Academy for the Arts in Connecticut. Mara’s paintings and sculptures were exhibited in galleries and museums across the nation including the QCC Art Gallery in New York, the Mattituck Museum of Art, and the Latino Art Museum in California. In 2008 and 2009 respectively, her work was shown internationally at both a museum in Argentina (Museo Metropolitano) and a gallery in Spain (Galleria de Arte Santos).
