I was born into a world filled with art. My father and uncle were renowned muralists, portrait and figure painters. They were born in Russia and fled to NY in 1922 to escape the Russian revolution. I was enthralled at a very early age as I watched them paint and was often a model for paintings. My apprenticeship with them began at 18 and has had a life-long effect on me. I studied at GSU and the Art Students League in NY. I paint in oils, my first love is color, and I believe in a strong knowledge of drawing and anatomy. My subjects are typically figurative, still-life, and portraiture.
