Biography:
Zimou Tan is a renowned traditional fine artist specializing in portrait and narrative figurative painting and drawings. He won the Northern California Gold Medal portrait painting competition in 2003 and has exhibited extensively, including with the California Art Club’s Gold Medal and Group Exhibits, the New York Portrait Society Gallery, and the de Young Museum in San Francisco. Tan is an American Society of Portrait Artists member, an ARC associate living master, and a Salmagundi Club member. His work has been featured in numerous publications, including “International Artist Magazine,” “Art of the West Magazine,” and “The artist Magazine.” Tan has won several awards, including the Grand Prize for the International Artist Magazine Portrait and Figure challenge in 2015 and the Second Prize for the Southwest Art Magazine in the same year. In 2019, he was named one of the “40 Portrait Masters” by a French fine art publication.
