About the Event

What appears to be a black and white print of a set of lips over a cocoa bean that is roughly the same size and shape as the lips. Text on the side reads "Vivienne Aerts/Typuhthâng"

The NL Club hosts an amazing evening filled with music, women and chocolate!

To celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, there will be music, featuring Dutch vocalist, performer, composer, Vivienne Aerts, and her newly released album, Typuhthâng (pronunciation: Type-of-thing). Read more about the album and pre-order here!

The event will present live music from an all-female band as well as informative components and audiovisual storytelling. Since the music and Original Beans’ chocolate are intertwined with each other, you can expect to taste chocolate, as well as other sweet applications of the chocolate, complimentary to the attendees of the show.

Typuhthâng features 3 sampled soundscapes made from field recordings from Virunga State Park, Congo and 6 original songs with arrangements by Vivienne, Zahili Gonzalez Zamora, Ines Velasco Montiel, Ga Young Bae, Linnea Lundgren, Camila Meza and Mariel Roberts, as well as recordings by 100 female musicians from over 40 countries. The new album is in collaboration with Dutch brand Original Beans Chocolate and aims to empower the female cacao farmers of Virunga State Park in DR Congo and replant the rainforest, through their project of “Femmes de Virunga.”

During the event there is the possibility to purchase an exclusive edition as well as the non-exclusive edition of the album, Typuhthâng; both come with a bar of Original Beans Femmes de Virunga chocolate.
