About the Film
An electric film noir made by Otto Preminger during the late WWII years. Superb cast features the drop-dead beautiful Gene Tierney as Laura Hunt. Laura has been murdered, and, as NYC detective Mark McPherson (Dana Andrews) investigates the case, he finds that everyone he interviews seems to be in love with her. Eventually, he, too becomes obsessed and falls in love with Laura. Brilliant work by Clifton Web–the real star of this ensemble piece. Look for Dame Judith Anderson in a small role Memorable title theme and soundtrack was composed by David Raksin and conducted by Alfred Newman.
Runtime is approximately 88 minutes and released in 1944. Come early to gather in the lower level of the Club and grab a beverage at the legendary Wiggins Bar. Screenings will begin promptly afterwards.
