About the Event

Cover of "The Bequest" Joanna Margaret has the image of a woman in a black dress in a library, holding up an open book so that it covers her face.

Join the Coffee House Club’s Urbane Conspirators and HIP Lit for an unforgettable night cloaked in Gothic suspense as mysteries abound in readings, conversation, music, and art. All in celebration of the paperback release of Joanna Margaret’s The Bequest with author Jessie Chaffee in conversation. The festivities will be punctuated with melodic renditions from Don Giovanni, starring singer Abby Hase.

Books will be available for sale and signing.

This is an official 2023 Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend event.
