About the Event

Cole Porter casually leaning at a piano with a cigarette in his hand.

For this month’s First Wednesday Musical Event, Coffee House is delighted to celebrate Cole Porter’s birthday with a lively night of musical performances from Steve Ross, Jean Brassard, and Zachary Drake. The conviviality will continue over dinner downstairs afterward.

Meet the Performers

Steve Ross leans his arm on a piano in dim lighting.

Steve Ross was dubbed the “Crown Prince of New York Cabaret” many years ago. He hasn’t lost his title. In fact, the only change today would be dropping “New York.” In the past decade alone Steve has performed around the country and around the world in every kind of venue – from Rio de Janeiro to Sydney, from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center and from cabarets to theaters.

Zachary Drake has recently returned to performing. He is no relation to Alfred Drake but he certainly enjoys performing his repertoire and we welcome him back!

Jean Brassard has short graying hair and a five o'clock shadow. He smiles and wears a blue collared shirt over a white undershirt.Actor, singer, songwriter and commentator for the WWE network, Jean Brassard’s extensive experience on TV and in film has included recent appearances in NBC’s Blacklist, Netflix’s House of Cards, Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and the cult film The Fault in our Stars. He has produced and starred in musical tributes to both Charles Aznavour and Yves Montand which earned him critical acclaim and Bistro and MAC awards, and he appeared recently in such cabaret venues as National Sawdust in Brooklyn, Pangea in New York and at the Pheasantry, in London. Jean’s thirty year voiceover career includes recordings of over sixty titles for Audible.com and Hachette, including Emmanuel Macron’s Revolution. He is widely known to French speaking wrestling fans as the commentator for the WWE Network’s French market.
