Biography:

Life creates art, where an experience for the artist creates an experience for the art lover. I try to accomplish this when I’m in my studio being inspired from growing up on a dairy farm, family, and friends. I studied at the Art Student’s League where I was fortunate enough to study with artists who really inspired me. As a Salmagundi member I had the pleasure of knowing Richard Pionk who I was able to learn from including his technique of pastels which had the most beautiful consistency I had ever seen. From studying with him I was able to embrace pastels and push color and contrast to its fullest creating passion through color and form. My work consists of landscape oil paintings, still lifes in pastels and portraiture in both. I’ve done commission works from client’s ideas to portraits being in collections throughout the US and in Europe.
