About the Event
Join us for the October installment of our First Wednesdays musical series, starring the incomparable Steve Ross. This series is curated by Coffee House member and musician Nancy Winston. The conviviality will continue over dinner downstairs afterward.
Steve Ross, acknowledged as one of the foremost interpreter’s of Cole Porter’s wickedly clever and deeply passionate songs, takes the audience through some of the well-known ‘list” numbers (“You’re the Top,” “The Physician,” “I’m Throwing a Ball Tonight”) to the deeply felt ballads (“I Concentrate On You,” “In the Still of the Night,” “Begin the Beguine,” “Night and Day”). Steve will also offer lesser-known gems in both of these categories, displaying the many-faceted musical genius that is Cole Porter.
About the Performer
The “Crown Prince of New York Cabaret” is what Steve Ross was dubbed many years ago. He hasn’t lost his title. In fact, the only change today would be dropping “New York.” In the past decade alone Steve has performed around the country and around the world in every kind of venue – from Rio de Janeiro to Sydney, from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center and from cabarets to theaters.
Ticketed guests are welcome to stay for dinner by indicating so in their Eventbrite RSVP.
There will be an a la carte menu to choose from. You can pay for your meal with a card or your membership account (no cash).
