Costanza Baiocco PhD, JD descends from generations of Italian painters and sculptors. Art studies began in her formative years during which she apprenticed in the atelier of her grandfather and uncle who were under contract to design and paint sets for the Ziegfeld Follies. She continued to paint while teaching and practicing feminist law.
Her education included tutoring by Asian masters in Sumi-e painting and studying oil painting at the National Academy of Art, the Art Students League, the New York Studio School and the Cape Cod School of Art.
The artist is an elected artist member of the Salmagundi Club of New York where she currently exhibits and participates in the Club’s annual auctions. She has also exhibited at the Office of the Consulate General of Japan, the China Institute (NYC), the United Nations, the Godwin-Ternback Museum, the Hammond Museum, Silvermine Art Center, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens Conservatory, the Evergreen Gallery, La Maison Francaise (NYU), the Open Center (NYC), Strathmore Hall (MD), the Broome Street Gallery, the Tenri Gallery (NYC), the City College of New York, and Pusan (Korea).
