About the Event

On a windowsill, an elaborately-ornamented stirrer leaning against it is a glass with cylindrical shape under the shape of the top half of a water glass.

Join Don Spiro, vintage cocktail specialist and absinthe expert for a guided tasting into the mysteries of “the green fairy”.  Absinthe was enormously popular in Belle Epoque Europe and it’s been said it was the favored drink of Oscar Wilde, Marcel Proust and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec among many other artists and writers.

Don will take guests on a journey through the history of this mystical drink and will challenge and clarify some of the more common myths as he guides you through a tasting of classic and modern absinthes.

Event cost includes the absinthe tasting only.

The Salmagundi bar will be open to event attendees following the event.  Wine, beer and a selection of cocktails will be available to be paid by credit card only.
