Ellen Troncone Esposito, age 84, died peacefully in her sleep at home on March 20, 2013 in the presence of her loving family.

On April 17, 1928 she was born in Brooklyn, New York. Ellen was the daughter of Remigio and Angelina Dente Troncone Both parents predeceased their daughter.

Ellen married John V. Esposito. They were married 63 years.

Ellen was a well-known professional portrait and landscape painter and art teacher. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and numerous national awards for her artwork. Her memberships have included American Society of Portrait Artist; North East Watercolor Society, Hudson Valley Art Association, and Salmagundi Club (the oldest artist club in the USA). Additionally, she is listed in the International Directory of Distinguished Leadership.

Survivors include: her loving husband, John, at home, one son: John and his partner Laura Steele, one daughter: Elise Esposito and her partner Joe Ciotti, a grandson: Brendan Devine, one brother: Reginald Troncone, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ellen was predeceased by her brothers: Charles Troncone, Armand Troncone, Anthony Troncone and a sister Louise Minardi.

A visitation for family and friends will be held today, Friday, March 22, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Engel Funeral Home, Inc. 5319 Route 9W (Middle Hope), Newburgh, N.Y.

Family and friends will meet at St. Mary’s Church, Marlboro, New York for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 23, 2013. Reverend Dennis Williams be the celebrant.

Interment will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Marlboro, New York.
