Plates [2-16] reproduce, in actual size, heads from six of Raphael’s cartoons for the Sistine Chapel tapestry series The Acts of the Apostles. Plate [1], which is identified in the inscription as a print of a self-portrait by Raphael, is after the painter’s portrait of Bindo Altoviti.
