Description of work:

Francis Luis Mora was born in Montevideo, Uruguary, to a father who was an architectural sculptor. Mora’s family were all connected to the arts, adding to the chance that he would follow in their footsteps. He became a painter, muralist, portraitist and was a prolific illustrator.

As an educator Mora taught life classes at William Merritt Chases’ School of Art in New York City.

This small pencil drawing of a portrait of a man by Mora, is carefully drawn and has subtle contours which express the character of the sitter.
