Biography:

Born in 1950 in Washington, D.C., Jacqueline Kamin received her formal art education from the Corcoran Museum School (1968-1971) in her native town, and later attended the Art Students League (1981-1983) and the Sculpture Studio (1983-1985), both in New York City.

Having experimented in many art styles and movements, she prefers Impressionism. Kamin credits being influenced by Joaquin Sorolla for his use of color, and Anders Zorn for his ability to capture light and for his economic use of line. In addition, figure painters Moses and brother Raphael Soyer have inspired her to paint her surroundings – the people, the land and still-lifes.
