Biography:

Konrad Hansalik was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and has always lived near an environment which provided him with the inspiration and subject matter for much of his art work. His oil paintings are individualistic in approach and naturalistic in style. While his subject matter is varied, he shows a preference for landscapes, cityscapes and waterfronts. Konrad’s landscapes and cityscapes are inspired in part from his travels, and his figure paintings, which may include portraiture, are often components of those categories. His marine paintings show particular emphasis on the Long Island waterfront. His woodcuts are representational and expressive. He draws inspiration from life and from themes ranging from literature to music. Each woodcut is individually hand rubbed and produced in numbered, limited editions. The size listed is that of the wood block, and not of the matted print.
