Biography:

Dorothy Ryan has served as Managing Director of Theatre for a New Audience since 2003. She spent the previous decade in fundraising roles with the 92nd Street Y and Brooklyn Museum and served as Visiting Assistant Professor for the Pratt Institute’s Arts and Cultural Management Program. She participated in the Arts and Business Council’s Arts Leadership Institute.

Ryan began her career in classical music artist management, and has also served as Company Manager for Chautauqua Opera, Managing Director for the Opera Ensemble of New York, and General Manager for Eugene Opera. She is a 2014 Brooklyn Women of Distinction honoree (Community Newspaper Group) and is a founding member and Treasurer of the Downtown Brooklyn Arts Alliance.

She lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn with her husband, John Leitch.
