Biography:

Maxine Nodel is an American visual artist from New York and comes from a family of illustrators, illuminators, painters, and musicians.

She is a graduate of the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City (https://cooper.edu/about), as well as a member of the Salmagundi Art Club in New York City (http://www.salmagundi.org). Most recently, Maxine became one of the 15 artists at the Queen City 15 Gallery in Poughkeepsie, NY. (https://www.queencity15.com). She is a drawing and painting instructor at the National Art League in Douglaston, New York https://www.nationalartleague.org/history). and the recipient of numerous fine art awards. Maxine has been a featured artist in a variety of exhibition venues including being invited to give a public art talk about her design-based drawings at the Edward Hopper House Museum. Maxine exhibits and sells her work nationally and internationally.

Maxine is also the founder and former Principal of a visual art high school in New York City that she created with a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant to serve underserved Bronx students. In 2009, her school received the Lincoln Center Institute First-Place Award for Most Imaginative Arts Curriculum in New York City.
