NEW YORK, West Village, New York (February 6, 2023) – Salmagundi is proud to present Full House: Presidents of Salmagundi, a unique exhibition showcasing the portraits of nearly all of the club’s forty-eight presidents. From February 19th to April 25th, 2023, visitors will have the opportunity to view thirty-eight works from the club’s collection in a single show.

“The presidents of Salmagundi have a rich and storied history, and this exhibition provides a rare opportunity to see their portraits together in one of our grandest rooms,” said William “Bill” Eric Indursky, Curator and Executive Director of Salmagundi. “The room will be filled with portraits like an English country house.”

The exhibition, located in the parlor gallery of the club’s townhouse, will feature works painted contemporaneously and posthumously, showcasing the diversity of styles and mediums used to depict the presidents. The portraits range in date from around 1888 to the present day, highlighting the evolving nature of the club and its mission.

In addition to the exhibition, Salmagundi will host a series of related events, including lectures and tours, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the club’s rich history and its commitment to representational art.
