– 1902 Lay member’s purchase prize was awarded only twice, once in 1902 to Bruce Crane for this work and to George Glenn Newell’s A break of day in 1906 which was last see in the the Parlor. It was also illustrated in the article “A painter of idylls – Bruce Crane,” appearing in the October 1902 issue of Brush and Pencil magazine as Landscape.
