Salmagundi presents Sweet Peas, an outside exhibit by artist Anita Madeira. Anita Madeira is an abstract expressionist living in New York’s Greenwich Village. She has studios in the Hampton’s and on Mount Desert Island. She is currently obsessed with black sumi ink and mulberry paper. Her unruly subjects include sticks, crabgrass, seaweed, pine trees, reeds, grape vines, farm stand fruits, fallen magnolia leaves, Casablanca lilies, and yes, stolen sweet peas.
