The Grand National Exhibition is once again, a gathering of the finest paintings and sculptures from across the country in a museum-worthy exhibition organized by the American Artists Professional League.  This comprehensive exhibition features oil & acrylic paintings, watercolors, sculpture and drawings from 100 artists.  Curated by the AAPL and two guest jurors, most works of art will be for sale.

Opening on November 18 in the Skylight Gallery, the 97th Grand National Exhibition will be open to the public, free of charge, and will close on the evening of December 5, 2025. Awards will be announced at the reception on November 21, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.

The AAPL will award over $35,000 in prizes. The Grand National Exhibition wouldn’t be possible without the generous sponsorship of the following companies and organizations such as Artwork Archive, Chelsea Classical Fine Art Materials, FASO/Bold Brush, Fine Art Connoisseur, International Artist Publishing, Ampersand Art Supply, Canson, Princeton Artist Brushed, M. Graham & Co., Rosemary and Company, Sentient Academy, Royal Talens, among others.

AAPL is honored to have Frederick Brosen serve as the Awards Judge. Brosen, one of America’s finest watercolor artists, infuses his artworks with architectural romance, creating urban landscapes that are imbued with a sense of history and limitless personal experiences.

A native New Yorker, Frederick Brosen began his studies at City College of New York, graduating in 1976. He studied art at the Art Students League and at Pratt Institute, receiving his MFA from Pratt in 1979. Mr. Brosen has been recognized with a Silver Medal of Honor by the Royal Society of Arts & Letters in London and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. Watercolors by Frederick Brosen have been acquired by the New York Historical Society, the Knoxville Museum of Art, The Museum of the City of New York, Frye Art Museum (Seattle) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art and are in many private collections.

As an instructor, Brosen is adept at sharing his mastery of traditional drafting and watercolor techniques with students of all levels while helping them achieve their personal goals and vision.

The guest jurors of selection are Kara Ross, ARC Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer, Signature Member and pastel artist Joel Edwards, and Signature Member and watercolorist Don Taylor.

On reception night on November 21st, the remarkable 13-year-old pianist Brielle Logel will perform to kick off the awards ceremony before Aki Kano, the president of the AAPL presents the awards and reads a special statement by Rick Brosen.
