About the Event
Join Coffee House at Salmagundi Club, as Daryl Sherman performs with special guest Nancy Winston; presenting their take on the recent heralded film about Lorenz Hart.
Daryl Sherman has been a part of the New York City jazz scene since the mid-70s and she is one of the rare singing pianists equally talented in both roles. Sherman is a unique stylist with charm, quick wit , chemistry with her audiences and ability to make herself at home in any musical setting. From her early stints at Sinatra hang-outs like Jilly’s, there’s hardly a jazz joint, supper club or hotel Daryl has missed. Her CDs are in regular rotation on Cable TV’s Music Choice, Sirius/XM Radio, BBC, JazzRadio Berlin and she’s been a frequent guest on Marian McPartland’s NPR Piano Jazz. Daryl’s CD saluting the Richard Rodgers centennial has been the most played and enduring of her many recordings.
Nancy Winston has been a mainstay of New York nightlife for five decades, playing piano and singing in NYC’s grand hotels. Her CD ”My Shining Hour” is available on request to nwinston045@gmail.com.
