Details about the 2024 Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club exhibition.

The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club has provided support for women artists for over 129 years. The Club was founded by prominent American philanthropist Catharine Lorillard Wolfe who was the only woman among 106 founding members of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Catharine’s first endowment to the MET and her collection formed the basis of the Museum’s European Painting collection. Her mission was to give aid and counsel to women artists. Our Benefit Reception honors her legacy.

Painting of ocean waves with white foam cresting over deep blue water.
Jane McGraw-Teubner, "Wake Up!", pastel
Oil painting of a woman in an off-the-shoulder gown holding a red sphere while seated in a high-backed chair.
Deborah B. Macy, "Amethyst", oil with gold wax on aluminum
An impressionistic oil painting of fluffy white seed heads surrounded by green leaves and dried stalks.
Karen Tighe, "Dune Blooms", pastel

Their 129th Anniversary Open Juried Exhibition showcases incredible 2D and 3D work from more than one hundred women artists from all across the US, Canada, and Europe. We have also added a small works show, which provides another opportunity for women artists to showcase their exceptional smaller pieces in 2D and 3D. This year we have 45 pieces in the small works show.
