About the Event
Join author, social worker, and Narrative Healing founder Lisa Weinert for an afternoon of reflection, conversation, writing, music, and creative exploration at the historic Salmagundi Club.
As summer begins to soften, Creative Reset invites participants to step away from the pressures of productivity and return to the deeper sources of creativity: attention, imagination, presence, and connection.
Part contemplative practice, part creative workshop, and part modern-day salon, this interactive gathering draws on Narrative Healing™, Lisa’s literary and mindfulness-based approach to creative expression. Through guided reflection, somatic awareness, writing, conversation, and music, participants will explore creativity not as something to achieve, but as a way of engaging more fully with themselves, their work, and one another.

Inspired by the long tradition of artists gathering to exchange ideas, nourish inspiration, and cultivate community, this afternoon offers a welcoming space for writers, artists, creatives, and curious minds to reconnect with what is most alive and meaningful in their creative lives.
Together, we’ll explore:
- Writing as a tool for reflection, insight, and creative renewal
- The relationship between attention, memory, image, and story
- Mindfulness and somatic practices that support creative presence
- Generative prompts inspired by art, music, and conversation
- The role of community, dialogue, and compassionate witnessing in the creative process
- Rest, curiosity, and contemplation as essential ingredients of an artistic life
The afternoon will include:
- Guided writing and reflection invitations
- Gentle mindfulness and embodied awareness practices
- Brief paired and group conversations
- Optional sharing and discussion
- Live piano and atmospheric music
- Quiet space for writing, sketching, reflection, or simply listening
Whether you are a practicing artist, an emerging writer, or someone seeking a more intentional relationship with creativity, you are warmly welcome.
