Portrait sketch with text: "Figure Drawing Class Exhibition. May 15 - May 31." Small emblem in the upper right corner.

Figure drawing is one of Salmagundi’s oldest traditions, tracing back as far as to when the organization was known as the New York Sketch Club.

Continuing this tradition, our Club has been host to monthly Drink & Draw’s, Costumed Model sessions, and annual figurative drawing / painting competitions. From these events, attending artists have created incredible work within our longstanding brownstone walls.

Done in the spur of the moment, these pieces are raw and unpolished; but an authentic state of the artist’s attention to detail. This exhibition offers a relaxed presentation of figurative work created by artists who have been an active part of our local community.
