About the Event

An O’Gundi Evening of Irish Music & Beer brings the spirit of Ireland to the Club for a special St. Patrick’s Day–month celebration of authentic traditional Irish music. This informal session will feature musicians sharing reels, jigs, and traditional songs in a relaxed, communal setting; creating a lively yet intimate experience.

The evening will be led by renowned Riverdance Irish fiddler and two-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, Patrick Mangan. Hosted by Fang Sullivan, Salmagundi Club artist member and Irish fiddler, the session will gather a vibrant circle of New York City–based Irish musicians in a spirited celebration of tradition.

The rich sounds of fiddles, concertina, accordion, bodhrán, flute, and tin whistle will fill the room as musicians share tunes in the time-honored Irish session style. This is an open session: all Irish musicians are invited to take part, and audience members are encouraged to join in the singing.

Members and guests will enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere in celebration of Irish heritage and culture. Irish-themed food and drink offerings will be available at the bar. Sláinte!

Two mugs of beer sit on a table surrounded by gold coins, green beads, and a green hat, suggesting a festive or celebratory setting.
