Hongmi Kim Hoog, "Comme Pluie Noire"

Founded in 1993, the Korean-New York Artist Association (KNYAA) is the most established Korean art organization in New York and New Jersey. It has served as an important platform supporting the creative work and exchange of Korean and Korean-American artists.

Since its founding, KNYAA has brought together artists across generations and disciplines, expanding the scope of contemporary art through their unique perspectives and cultural identities. From painting and sculpture to installation, photography, ceramics, and digital art, a wide range of artistic practices comes together, reflecting the layered sensibility of New York while naturally connecting Korean aesthetics with a global context.

The 2026 Annual Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club presents a compelling overview of KNYAA’s artistic journey. Participating artists move beyond individual narratives to share a collective vision, offering a thoughtful and engaging dialogue in contemporary art. Bridging tradition and modernity, East and West, and the individual and the community, this exhibition invites viewers to experience new visual perspectives and deeper reflection.
