About the Event
From 1899 to 1924, Salmagundi artists painted over 600 ceramic mugs, which were auctioned annually to benefit the Club library. Members like Winslow Homer, William Merrit Chase, and Howard Pyle completed for bragging rights, and the highest bid. Read more about the history via The Magazine Antiques here.
This fall, we’re bringing it back. Each participating artist receives a blank mug to decorate in their own style; finished mugs will be auctioned at a special Club dinner. Your mug becomes part of a 150 year Club legacy – one that still lives on our library shelves today.
Bring your favorite brushes, palette knife, a 6″ white tile or flat white china plate! Delft blue china paint and oils will be provided.
