About the Book
1938, London. The four queens of British crime fiction, Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Ngaio Marsh, and Margery Allingham, are hosting a gala to raise money for the Women’s Volunteer Service to help Britain prepare for war. Baronet Sir Henry Heathcote has loaned Hursley House for the event and all the elites of London society are attending. The gala is a brilliant success, despite a few hiccups, but the next morning Sir Henry is found dead in the library.
About the Author
Rosanne Limoncelli, PhD is a writer and filmmaker living in Brooklyn. Rosanne writes plays, screenplays, poetry, games, mysteries, thrillers, and science fiction. Her short fiction first appeared in Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, and her short films have screened in festivals around the world. Rosanne has been teaching story writing and filmmaking at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts for more than three decades. Rosanne’s debut mystery novel is The Four Queens of Crime published by Crooked Lane Books at Penguin Random House. The series continues with DEATH AT KING’S CROSS (July 2026) and MURDER BY THE SEA (July 2027). Rosanne’s thriller series that takes place in 1979 NYC, begins with NINA’S SPIRAL (October 2026).
About the Mystery Book Club
Since 2013, the Mystery book club has met monthly with the exception of June and July. The books discussed are primarily mystery novels. Some memorable authors explored have included Agatha Christie, Lee Child, Louise Penny and Ruth Rendell.
Books are selected based on geographic or historical interest, such as works by author Donna Leon whose crime novels are set in Venice, Italy and Peter Tremayne, Celtic scholar and historian whose focus is 7th century Ireland. We have had new authors discuss their writings including Paul Paradise, who writes about murder, trademark counterfeiting, and product piracy and Radha Vatsal, award winning mystery writer whose books center around a young female reporter in New York City during the 1910’s.
