About the Event
This month’s Photo Group Workshop features Gary J. Murakami, Ph.D., a retired Bell Labs computer science researcher with lifelong interests in science, history, art, and creative endeavors including music, crafts, and photography. “Image Creative Outlet and Pursuit – From Photography to AI Image Creation” incorporates selected images to tell his artistic journey, including his exploration of AI-driven image generation.

The main topic is his exploration of AI image creation over the past few years, including early stages from Adobe Firefly, through experimentation with various platforms and models, to the current state-of-the-art with NightCafe, “the AI Art Generator for AI artists, enthusiasts and content creators.” Many images will be used to give an overview of the creation process, composition, challenges, community, image generation models, video, and additional tools. The session will also cover starting images and photo editing using AI.
Get ready for an audience experiment and experience, alongside a discussion of how programming and AI increases the depth and breadth of creative outlet for everyone.
About the Photo Workshop Group
The Photo Workshop Group holds monthly meetings on the last Friday of each month. It is open to all club members who are interested in photography. Our goal is to encourage conversation, exchange of ideas, and hands-on experimentation in areas of interest to photographers.
