About the Event

A woman in a suit sits at a microphone on stage with a red curtain backdrop; smaller images show other performers with scripts and microphones. Text describes a theatrical podcast experience.

Salmagundi members are invited to join Coffee House Club for A Simple Herstory, an acclaimed podcast and genre-blurring performance project. This will be performed in a special live radio play presentation in conjunction with the 2026 Tribeca Festival.

Developed at Powerhouse Theater last year, this presentation features a segment from the upcoming Season 2 centered on Senator Margaret Chase Smith and her stand against Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare. Blending historical research, theatrical storytelling, and the live-wire energy of a radio play, the piece moves at a sharp, fast pace — digging into who gets remembered, why, and the blurry line between courage and performance — all while delivering a genuinely hilarious, high-voltage afternoon at the theater.
