Biography:

Elizabeth grew up on a farm in North Louisiana, exploring the pastureland, creek bottoms and pine tree shaded trails. She loved to draw, especially houses and objects found in nature. At the age of 12 she received her first set of oil paints from her grandfather and instantly fell in love with the challenge of painting.  As a teen, she painted alongside her grandfather on Saturday mornings.

Elizabeth graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a BA of Interior Design.  While at Louisiana Tech she helped to document the Melrose Plantation through (HABS) drawings (Historic American Building Survey) Her hand measured and hand drawn delineations of the site plan and hardware detail of The Melrose Plantation, Big House were deposited in the Library of Congress and the Athenaeum of Philadelphia where they remain on file.  The drawings and other teammates’ drawings were recognized by the Historic American Building Survey of the National Park Service and the Athenaeum of Philadelphia for Second place in the Charles E. Peterson Prize. The delineations were also published in a book by F. Lester Martin titled Folk and Styled Architecture, Volume II The River Parishes.  While at Louisiana Tech she was also awarded the Hart Design Excellence award for travel and study of art and architecture in Italy.

After college, Elizabeth and her husband moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where she worked as a kitchen and bath designer.  After hurricane Katrina she and her husband relocated to Cookeville, TN and she became active in the Upper Cumberland creative community. In 2014 she and her husband relocated back to Louisiana. Elizabeth’s dream has always been to just do her art. In 2017 she made a faithful commitment to do one work of art per week to honor God for the gifts that he has given her. Knowing that if the good Lord wanted her to be a full-time artist that he would make a way for her.

Elizabeth works in ink, graphite, and oil. She is known for her drawings and oil paintings that show attention to detail / realism.  Elizabeth now works full time in her Studio at River Oaks Square Arts Center in Alexandria, La. where she has been a resident artist since 2018. Her work is held in private collections across the United States.

When not painting and drawing stuff she enjoys collecting art from her friends, working on the restoration of her house that was built in the 1940’s, spending time with her sweet husband on their farm.

Elizabeth is passionate about creating, learning and growing as an artist.  Simply put, she’s just an Average Jane with an easel that likes to paint and draw stuff.
