Description / background:

Presented each year to outstanding artist members of the Salmagundi Art Club’s COGAP committee, in recognition of excellence in support of the Coast Guard Art Program. This award is named after Mr. George Gray, Salmagundi Art Club member and former Coast Guardsman.

The sculpture for the George Gray Award medallion was created by Carey Boone Nelson, COGAP member, in 1983.
