Biography:

Jane is a Signature Member-Master Pastelist, Pastel Society of America and a Master Circle Recipient, International Association of Pastel Societies. She was on the cover, Plein Air Magazine, with a five page article, Oct/Nov, 2017. She is included in Pure Pastel a nationally published book about pastels released in 2019. In 2014 and 2015, she was invited to be a demonstrator and a field artist at the Plein Air Convention held in Monterey, CA, hosted by Plein Air Magazine. Jane’s artwork has been featured on the cover of the 2013 December issue of Pastel Journal along with an eight page article. She was a featured Artist in December 2017, Huntington Times News, NY. Jane is a resident artist in the Salmagundi Art Club, New York, NY and is on the Board of Directors for The Catharine Lorillardn Wolfe Art Club.

Jane has won numerous awards at local and national juried shows, including: Honorable Mention at Easton in Maryland, Plein Air 2016. She won Best in Show at the Setauket Artist’s Neighborhood House Art Show for her painting “Feel The Ocean”. She also won Third Prize at Easton Plein Air Quick Draw Competition in July 2012. In September, 2009, she won her third award at the Pastel Society of America’s Annual National Show and received the status of Master Pastelist. She was accepted into the 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th Annual Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Juried National Shows where she received the highest award – the 2007 Gold Medal of Honor for Pastels/Drawing. Other awards: at the Salmagundi Art Club Combined Show 2007, the Mortimer Freehof Award for Pastel, the Bruce Crane Award at the Salmagundi Art Club Spring Auction 2008, Art Spirit Silver Medal Award at the Salmagundi Art Club Annual Members Show, NYC, and at the Pastel Society of America’s National Juried Show in 2005 – the Salmagundi Award for her pastel “Pebbles and Beach Grass”.

Jane’s work is displayed in galleries in Carmel, CA, Spring Lake and Stone Harbor, NJ, Milford, PA, Stony Brook, NY, Jamesport, NY, Mystic, CT, Windsor, NY, the National Arts Club, NYC, The Salmagundi Art Club, NYC and the Broome Street Gallery, NYC. She teaches pastel painting at the Teaching Studios of Art in Oyster Bay and private classes from her home in East Northport, NY.
