Biography:

Represented by Dacia Gallery, New York City, NY since 2012, Cook has shown her work in numerous exhibits and has had three solo shows. She has also shown at Six Summits gallery, CT The Alexander Adam Gallery, NYC., and at the Haven Gallery, NY. In 2014 she exhibited her work at the United Nations, NYC, The Denise Bibro Gallery, NYC  and in Southern Carolina where she participated in the ‘Women Painting Women’ exhibition at the Principle Gallery in Charleston. In 2013 she participated in the Fountain Art Show, at the Armory, NY, and had her work shown in France, Germany, and Romania as part of Dacia Universal Art Project. Museum shows include a four-person invitational at the Trenton City Museum, NJ., Canton Museum, Ohio, Mattatuck Museum Ct, National Academy Museum, NY., Hudson River Museum, NY., and the Maritiem Muzeeum of Vlissingen, Netherlands.

Cook’s work has been featured in the New York Times weekend section and reviewed in the Times of Trenton, NJ, Huffington Post, Fine Art Connoisseur, The Brooklyn Rail, NYArtbeat.com events section, Artdaily.org, The Epoch Times, The American Art Collector, American Artist Magazine, the Gallery and Studio Magazine, TheGreatNude.tv (which also made a YouTube video of her 2014 solo show at Dacia Gallery), Fine Art Connoisseur, NBC’s ‘Dateline’ program, the ‘Da Vinci Code’, The Pastel Journal, Drawing Magazine and has written three articles for the International Artist Magazine. Her figures and portraits have appeared on the front cover of Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, the Art Students League Lines Magazine, and in Poets and Artists Magazine.

Over the years she has received many awards for excellence, including: 2016 Outside the Box Finalist and an Honorable mention from the Portrait Society of America members show. She was a Finalist in the 12th International Art Renewal Center Salon (ARC), and has won Gold and Silver medals from the Allied Artists of America, a Master Circle Medal award from The International Association of Pastel Societies, and Best in Show from the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. Cook is also an elected member of the Salmagundi Club where she serves as a member of the Arts Committee, Pastel Society of America, The Allied Artists of America, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club and America Artists Professional League.

She has taught at the Pastel Society of America since 2010 and runs workshops in France and at the Art Students League in NYC. Over the past few years she has been invited to judge and jury shows at a number of art organizational shows, and has been a guest lecturer at Southern Utah University.

Her work is in the permanent collection of the Trenton City Museum, NJ., and numerous private collections through out the US, Panama, Israel and the UK,

Cook studied at the National Academy School of Art and the Art Students League in New York City, and holds a BA in Art History with honors from the De Montfort University, England, UK.
