Biography:
Jeff Butler is a native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and resides in Richmond, California where he works in the San Francisco Bay Area as a commercial banker for Los Angeles’s City National Bank.
He serves on two Boards in Richmond: the Richmond Promise and the Richmond Museum Association [RMA]. The RMA administers two historical sites including the Richmond Museum of History & Culture and the SS Red Oak Victory. The Richmond Museum of History & Culture houses a permanent collection of artifacts along with a recent acquisition of an historically relevant mural by the painter Victor Arnautoff. And the SS Red Oak Victory is the last surviving vessel of 747 ships built at the Richmond Kaiser Shipyards during World War II and is docked in Richmond, where she continues to serve today as a museum ship.
Jeff grew up in a household curated by folks who were in the art and antiques business and remains interested in art and antiques to this day. He is a graduate of Colby College with a BA in English (with additional studies at Royal Holloway, University of London) and of Cornell University with an MBA in Business. Jeff finds inspiration through a lifelong quest to learn as well as to impart knowledge and perhaps art is one of the finest ways to do just that.
