Based in Dallas, Texas

Since beginning her artistic journey in 2016, Katherine Martinez has found inspiration in all areas of life. In fact, she particularly enjoys painting from life, whether it be plein air, the live model, or still-lives. Studying and interpreting the natural world never leaves her without inspiration. Katherine’s style shifts between deconstructed and life like forms, but is fundamentally representational. With these guides, Katherine attempts to find a balance between classical techniques and contemporary aesthetics.

After graduating from a local community college, Katherine continues to study with many accomplished artists nationwide by attended several workshops on scholarship to hone her skills. Following in the footsteps of artists in the past who sought higher education, she is currently apprenticed to Michael Mentler at the Society of Figurative Arts and is a Gallery Assistant/Custom Frame Designer/Featured Artist at the Dutch Art Gallery. Katherine works constantly, be it on studies, studio pieces, or commissions.
