Biography:

Neil Allen, together with Laura DeMarco, his partner and inspiration, became a Resident Patron Member in October 2016. In October 2018 he became a Resident Artist Member. Neil enjoyed a career in investing and banking specializing in Latin America and Emerging Markets. He is now a photographer primarily doing street, environmental portrait, travel and still life photography. At the Club, he is on the Admissions Committee and is an active supporter of Salmagundi.

Neil Allen is a New York-based fine art photographer and an Artist member of the Salmagundi Club and the Salmagundi Photo Group. He photographs what he sees-street, environmental portrait, travel, landscape and still life. In 2018, his first year of showing photos, he received two awards in Salmagundi Club exhibitions and had a Winner in the Photo Review 2018 Competition, an Honorable Mention in the NYC4PA HUMANS 2018 and two shortlisted selections for the Britishlife Photography Awards.

He is finalizing a book, Paris People, photos from which can be seen in the Gallery of the same name.

As a photographic artist, the magic he seeks is seeing and capturing moments in time and making you feel you are there with him. He particularly wants to capture the beauty, irony and humor of the human condition, the subtle, sometime metaphysical connections between people and their settings as well as the sublime majesty of the natural world.
