Statement from the Artist:

The first photo which is in black and white was taken in Hawaii on Maui island in 2000. I was touched by the pile of sodas gathered in a light fishnet basket in front of a simple house; was it a week’s or a month’s total amount of drinks for one person, for a household? Was it sweet drinks or beer, who knows, but it was like sharing the life of the house inhabitants and it touched me. I also loved the round shape of it all in the open air.

Soda bottles re-created, Barcelona

The second image is in color, taken in 2026 in Barcelona on a street - I loved the colors, the composition, the words and the creativity using the soda bottles in such a nice way..it was joyful and fun so that I could not pass up photographing it. A very different feeling between the two works. I am not sure if I feel that the color one is better than the old one... they show a different approach in my choice of subject.
