Pencil on paper study of chicory (the blue flowered plant cultivated for its salad leaves and root) depicting the full bush, the base leafage described in detail, with the multitudinous branches sketchily rendered. This plant usually grows from half a meter to one meter high, however, here Lalique has indicated that the height of this plant is almost one and a half meters, a particularly tall example.
