Statement from the Artist:

I like paintings that convey positive feelings with a sense of life. The backdrop of cheerful colorful buildings in “Portofino”, that I painted twenty years ago, conveys that spirit. Likewise “Snowfall in the Village”, that I painted this year, also captures the vibrant life of the city.

In a sense the recent NY painting, although much smaller, is more focused, and didn’t require nearly as much canvas ‘real estate’ to express those emotions. I still like to paint larger sized canvases, but have come to appreciate focusing with much less space required.
