Salmagundi Shows Spring Themed Traditional Art Works

NEW YORK, West Village, New York (February 22, 2023) –New York, NY – The Salmagundi Club, one of the oldest art organizations in the United States, is excited to announce its upcoming exhibition “Rites of Spring.” The exhibition celebrates the season of rebirth, renewal, and all things in bloom.

Rites of Spring showcases a wide array of artwork that captures the essence of springtime. The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, and photographs that depict the awakening of the landscape, the beauty of flowers, and the return of the robins in spring. Each piece of art captures the vibrancy and energy of the season, with a unique perspective from each artist.

“We are thrilled to showcase such a diverse and vibrant collection of artwork that celebrates the beauty of spring,” said Jacob Collins, President of the Salmagundi Club. “The pieces in this exhibition capture the essence of the season in their own unique way, and we are excited to share them with our community.”

The exhibition is open to the public from March 6th to March 30, 2023, at the Salmagundi Club’s historic landmark building at 47 Fifth Avenue in New York City. Art enthusiasts and spring enthusiasts alike are invited to come and experience the energy of the season through the art on display.

The Salmagundi Club has been promoting and exhibiting the work of artists since 1871. Rites of Spring continues the tradition of celebrating the creativity and innovation of artists from around the world. ABOUT

Salmagundi is a non-profit 501(c)(3), professional and social club, created in 1871 by artists and patrons to support one another. It is one of America’s oldest arts organizations with more than 1,200 current members throughout the United States and abroad.

The Club has continuously championed representational art from its founding with iconic members, including: Thomas Moran (1837-1926), William Merritt Chase (1849-1916), Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933), Emil Carlsen (1848-1932), N.C. Wyeth (1882-1945), Childe Hassam (1859-1935) and Winston Churchill (1874-1965).
